빌보드 1위에 올랐던 Billie Jean의 배경을 알아보면 아름답다고는 할 수 없는 사연이 있는데요, 당시, 스스로를 Billie Jean Jackson 이라고 부르는 여자가 자신의 쌍동이 자식의 아버지가 마이클 잭슨이라고 주장하고 다녔다고 하고, 또 이런 스토커가 한 둘이 아니었다고 합니다. 가사 내용을 보면 Billie Jean is not my lover. … the kid is not my son. 이라는 부분이 나오는데요, 스토커들에게 지친 마이클 잭슨이 아예 노래로 만들었던 것 같습니다. 하지만, 마이클 잭슨은 한 인터뷰에서 자신의 개인적인 얘기를 한 것이 아니고 그의 형들과 Jackson 5 그룹 활동을 할 때의 경험을 노래한 것이로고 했습니다. 어쨌든 Billie Jean은 1983년에 발표된 곡임에도 여전히 사랑받고 있습니다.
